Route map
Studio Crossover · communication strategy & social media
🦅Hi, I’m ArendDutch footnote: “arend” means eagle. Hence the bird.. I make communication sharper.
I help purpose-driven organisations sharpen their story. With a feel for tone, timing and the people you want to reach. And with a gamer’s brain that likes to work out which route is super effective.
Profile
Strategic enough to set direction. Practical enough to make it happen.
I’m Arend van Berkel. Public communication, politics, youth organisations, online culture and gaming often meet in my work. That combination helps me quickly see where a story is strong, where people lose interest and which tone does or does not work.
I like thinking about strategy, but I am happiest when it becomes concrete. Listen, find the core, write, publish, measure and improve. No plan that disappears into a drawer. Something you can use tomorrow.
Understand people
What is really going on? Not just in comments and numbers, but between the lines too.
Read the interests
Where is the tension? Who is watching? And which word could land the wrong way?
Make it real
A good idea only counts when it exists. In copy, a post, advice or a plan.
Inventory
What I bring when I join the conversation.
Not a collection of tricks, but a set of skills that strengthen one another. Especially with social issues, it helps when copy, structure and strategy move in the same direction.
Words that do more than sound good.
For web copy, captions, campaign writing and complex messages that need more clarity without losing nuance.
Build a structure people want to move through.
From a focused landing page to a complete website flow. With attention to hierarchy, rhythm and clear choices for people who want to understand what matters quickly.
First understand what is really going on.
I like to ask the questions before we make anything. What should someone feel, understand or do, and who else is paying attention?
Content that fits the channel.
Not everything should sound the same everywhere. I look at tone, pace, context and the conversation your content starts.
See where people engage or drop off.
From numbers to comments. Not measuring for the sake of it, but to make better choices.
Making online culture clear to the people living in it.
Gaming, identity and safer online groups · Hogeschool Utrecht × Utrecht Maakt Kennis.
Bird’s-eye view
Read the map first. Then make your move.
I like to zoom out before we put anything into the world. Who do you want to reach? Where is the tension? Which message feels right? Then I choose the route: listen, focus and land.
About
Curious where that perspective comes from?
From online culture and theatre to public communication. This is the story behind Studio Crossover.
Services
You can already feel there is more to the story.
Not every story needs a complete makeover.
Sometimes removing the noise is enough.
To sharpen the core.
And to choose the format, tone and route that make sense.
That is where I come in. From copy and content to websites, social media and communication strategy for organisations that want to move something forward.
From a first feeling to a story that works.Proof
Work I’m proud of
A selection of projects where I was able to think, make and learn. From youth organisations and campaigns to content, visibility and communication strategy.
Visuals that give your story pace.
A dynamic example from online culture. Not as an isolated effect, but as proof that rhythm, visuals and context shape how quickly a story lands.

You do not need a perfect brief.
A story that still feels off, social media without a clear line or a website that no longer fits? A few sentences are enough. I will look at what is really needed and which next step makes sense.
